Research On American Circus

As a group, We have decided to do our website design on the circus. I'm happy with this idea as the other are. We will be researching into different styles of circus each country has, America, England and France. My country will be America. I think we will be relating this to children as this will be most successful way forward for this topic.

The first circus to come about in america was when the country itself was founded, as the population grew and america went through the industrial revolution the circus boomed. In most cases the circus provided people's first view of new inventions, exotic animals and popular entertainment. The circus goes back to the late eighteenth century in England, however the american circus came about in the nineteenth century. The circus itself was a form of entertainment, especially outside cities and larger areas. At the beginning of the twentieth century, there were more than hundred circus around the county. The shows would bring in as many as twelve thousand viewers at a time. I will be looking at the main circus' which include Phillip Astley, John Bill Ricketts, Pepin and Breschard and Adam Barnum.
